RISE Flex is designed to promote advanced project engagement opportunities for middle and high school students. Participants select project cohorts based on seasonal competitions, personal interests, and the availability of exciting technologies.
Each student receives individualized support during project-based learning, and is encouraged in developing habits that foster greater independence and promote self-learning.
A flexible implementation allows students to partake in as many groups as their interests, time, and abilities support. Cohort groups have formed around the following projects, competitions, and activities in the past year:
- Computer-aided design
Engineering and bridge building
Gardening and urban farm design
